When we set roots in Houston in 1979, the Pacific Island community was limited to a very few families and a handful of transplants. A small but tight-knit community.
Fast forward to today, and Houston’s community has grown exponentially! Our organization, TAPA Houston (the Texas Academy of Pacific Arts), was formed to help bridge the gaps between Houstonians and their island roots through education, community, dance and music, support, and social events.
Although this community has grown, it still has a ways to go before breaking even with the heavy-hitting cities. We have increased numbers, but scattered communities across our massive city.
We created Pasifika Nights Mini Fest & Night Market to bring those communities together. When that happens, we want to create the best experience we can! We asked ourselves how we could support our limited Houston community, and the answer was by uplifting our greater Pasifika community. That’s when the Pasifika Mini Mart was born. We get to support Pacific Island artists while showcasing them to a community that is not robust enough (yet) to bring people across state lines.
We look forward to collaborating with you to achieve that goal.

Guarantee
There is no participation fee, and TAPA keeps $0 from vendor sales. TAPA Houston will be responsible for taking payments on all inventory received, but 100% of sales will go directly to the vendor.
We understand the risk of sending your work, and want to assure you it is in good hands. TAPA Houston assumes responsibility for your merchandise from the time we confirm receipt until unsold items are returned to the shipping carrier. If an item is lost or damaged while in TAPA’s custody, TAPA will reimburse the vendor based on the value listed on the approved inventory form. Loss or damage during shipping will be handled through the carrier’s insurance and claims process.
